Activity description Novauris develops and provides novel, advanced speech recognition technology.
It has particularly concentrated on spoken access to very large databases. In particular, it has demonstrated rapid, accurate speaker-independent single-utterance access to the database containing 245 million names and addresses.

Products and services description Novauris offers systems for spoken access to large databases both over the telephone and with direct microphone input and with both on-line and off-line operation. The current product runs on PCs under Linux. With multi-line input, a scheduler automatically spreads the load over the processors available to it.

Market sectors/area Novauris products are being tested for:

Call centre applications, particularly the identification of names and addresses that are already present in a database
Autoattendants and autodialers
Destination entry for road-vehicle navigation systems
They are also being considered in the longer term for automated directory assistance.
